Courtney Friel, a reporter in Los Angeles, was interviewing Andrew Macias, 4, as he made his way to his first day of preschool on Tuesday when all of a sudden her question resulted in the young boy bursting into tears.
After briefly chatting with the first time student Friel asked him if he would miss his mom during his first day at City Terrace Elementary School, Andrew firmly replied, “No,” but then paused for a second and began to tear up.
A few moments later, the little boy’s mom gave him a hug off camera and shortly there after he walked into school for his first day of school.
The first day of school brought mixed emotions for many students, including 4-year-old Andrew Macias, who spoke to us on his way to pre-kindergarten on Tuesday. When we asked Andrew if he would miss his mother during his first day at City Terrace Elementary School, the young man firmly said, “No.” He paused a second and then began to tear up.
