Tom Brady’s biggest fan, his mom Galynn, was not able to attend any games this season as she has been battling an undisclosed form of cancer for the past 18-months. However, she was able to rally and make it to Houston on Sunday to watch her son win the Super Bowl in what some are calling the greatest come from behind win ever.
The New England Patriot’s quarterback was named Super Bowl LI MVP after the game, and was quick to give credit to his mom during the post-game press conference on Monday morning.
“She’s been through a lot, you know, way harder than what I went through last night,” Brady said of his mom during the press conference. “I’m just happy last night to be able to celebrate with her. And she hadn’t been to a game all year, so what a hell of a game for her to be at.”

When asked what she thought of the win, “I’m overwhelmed.” Galynn told WBZ-TV. “I was just praying. All I did was pray, the whole game, just pray.”
Family is important to Brady, who got choked up in a pre-Super Bowl press conference when he said his dad was his hero. He shared the sweet photo of his parents just before the start of the game with the caption, “Sandwich kiss for Mom at Picture Day!!! Go Pats!!!!”
He also mentioned that he was lucky to have his whole family there cheering him on, and that he was looking forward to spending some quality time at home with his kids.
“They haven’t had their dad home very much lately,” he told reporters.
But the understatement of the year was when he spoke of his mom finally being able to make it to a game this season when he said, “What a hell of a game for her to be at.”
We couldn’t agree more!
