‘Dancing With The Stars’ Peta Murgatoyd Shares Post-Baby Selfie

It can get a bit annoying when stars share their ‘post-baby’ selfies looking like they just came from the gym instead of like they just created and carried a small human inside of them for 10 months!

Professional Dancing With The Stars dancer, Peta Murgatroyd just shared a selfie 8 days post-childbirth and we couldn’t love her more for doing so. Her photo shows an incredibly fit and beautiful Murgatroyd with a small bump that makes her look like she’s still “5 months pregnant.”

Her caption reads, “Real life: I took this photo 8 days post birth. I left the hospital looking 5 months pregnant. Many people think a woman should shrink right back to her pre-birth weight immediately. That is just not the truth for most. The female body is incredible and resilient, but healing and strengthening take time. Now it’s time for patience and hard work. Lots of love to all the new mamas out there on the journey. #yesihaveascrunchieinmyhair #shaiiswortheverypound

Besides the super honest, real life photo, the fact she’s wearing a scrunchie, AND calling it out with a hashtag may also make her one of our favorite people!

Murgatroyd and fiancé, former Dancing With The Stars professional Maksim Chmerkovskiy welcomed their son, Shai Aleksander on January 4th.  The very talented couple have shared their joy with fans, but no photos of their little bundle yet.

Chmerkovskiy posted a very sweet photo where he is obviously cradling little Shai, and shared that he’s “the happiest person that’s ever lived,” but continued, “I’m also feeling very protective and now understand what every parent in history have been going through for as long as humans have been given birth. I don’t let too many people come see my son and I dn’t want to put an of him on social media just yet. @petamurgatroyd and I just want to enjoy our little family, together with our loved ones, and take in all the precious moments which we’ll never get back.”

We completely understand and hope his request for people, especially the paparazzi parked outside his house are heading his request. He asks, “So be sensitive please. Or not. Either way, hope everyone’s year is off to an incredible start.”

Happy New Year indeed. We hope the adorable couple is able to enjoy every newborn minute – it passes in the blink of an eye!
