Garth Brooks Brings Us To Tears Singing “Mom”

“When God describes what a Mom is, whew, it kills me.”

Garth Brooks is back on the road touring for the first time in 13 years and has a new album being released this week. He recently made a stop at the Good Morning America studio to sing “Mom” and bring the audience to tears.

“It should’ve been written 50 years ago,” the country icon told show host Robin Roberts before serenading her with the Don Sampson and Wynn Varble-penned song. “It’s a conversation between God and this unborn child, [who is] about ready to go down to earth. And when God describes what a mom is… whew, it kills me. It’s a beautiful song; I wish I’d written it. ‘The Dance’ is my favorite Garth Brooks song ever, but if there was ever a song that could ever rival it — just because of the context of it… You know I’m a mama’s boy.”
