Little Boy Learns About Loss When His Goldfish Dies

by

This poor little guy just experienced what is probably his first loss, the death of his goldfish and best friend, Top. He seems to be handling things pretty well as his mom walks him through the goldfish ‘funeral’ process, which ends with the fish being flushed down the toilet.

That’s when the finality of the moment seems to sink in, the weight of the loss comes out and he starts crying. His mom comforts him, and if we could we would give him a big hug too.

Have you had to explain loss to your children?
