Moms Powering Moms

There’s nothing that can slow down or stop a mother’s love. Philips, a company that defines itself on Facebook as a technology company “focused on improving people’s lives through meaningful innovation in healthcare, lighting and consumer products” chose to prove that statement in a recent video.

The video was created to celebrate Mother’s Day in Argentina, which actually takes place October 15th there. Philips worked with an ad agency to create the powerful video entitled, “Energía de madre,” (“Mother’s Energy”).

They selected twenty influential, active mothers, and asked them to wear a device on their shoes while they went about their everyday, busy lives. The device that Philips created actually harnessed the “kinetic energy, generated by a mother when she performs different activities in her day.”

So the moms got up early, prepared meals, wrangled kids while preparing meals, brought their children to and from school, playgrounds, and activities, went to work, and some even found the time and energy to go for a run! These moms created an amazing amount of energy just doing what they do every single day, day in, day out. Where does all that energy actually come from?

One mom shared her thoughts on where moms get all of that energy, “I feel that that energy comes from love, love for my children, for my family, and for what I do as well.”

Watch the video to find out what they did with the power they harnessed. It is absolutely incredible.

These experienced moms literally sent their strength to new moms at a time when they needed it most. The energy they created powered the incubators in the neonatal unit at the Sardá Maternity Hospital. It was a beautiful reminder that we’re all in this together, and together we power life (literally).
