Stop Making New Year Resolutions In January

No More New Year Resolutions

Happy Happy 2017!

I’m in the dark whether or not there is a cut off date for when you need to stop saying Happy New Year, but I am going to use the current white jeans rule, and going to throw it out there that it’s ok to say anytime of the year.

So, Happy New Year!

I’m not going to beat around the bush today, I will get right to the point! I do NOT believe in New Years resolutions. YUP, I said it. It’s out there. To me ‘New Years Resolutions’ are one of those life long habits that I would love to see you break.

Wait what?

January is the month when the gyms are packed, ½ the people you know are on a “cleanse” or some sort of diet, we make promises that this is the year I will start (insert resolution here)?

Fast forward to February, the gyms are back to normal attendance and most of us are frustrated and disappointed with ourselves for not being true to our “New Years Resolutions”.

So how about we all try this– how about all year long we strive to be our best and healthiest selves? Don’t get me wrong, I do think that the start of the New Year can be used as a kick start, but let’s make a deal here today – let’s make resolutions all year long!

Set a goal, reach a goal, set your next, whatever month it is, whether it is, whether it’s January 1st, May 17th, or September 24th. It doesn’t matter! Prove to yourself that goals can be set and met at anytime of the year! Be your best today and everyday of the year!

Below are a couple of quotes by some people you may recognize. These are great to pull out of your pocket on any given day, especially if you are having a challenging one staying on track. You got this!

“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.” - Thomas Jefferson

“Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.” - Winston Churchill

“If you can dream it, you can do it!” - Walt Disney

Happy New Year!
